A seller of one small shop placed an announcement next to the entrance: “Kittens for sale.” Of course, this inscription attracted attention of local kids, and a buy entered the shop in a few minutes. Having greeted the seller, he asked shyly about the price.

- 50$, – the seller said.

Having sighed, the kid felt for change in his pocket and started recounting it.

- I have only 20$ right now, – he said sadly. – Please, can I at least take a look at them? –he asked hopefully.

The seller gave him a smile and put kittens out of a big box. Having felt freedom, kittens began to meow and started running. Only one of them fell behind for some reason. And there was something wrong with his back leg.

- Please, tell me, what is wrong with that kitten? – the boy asked.

The seller answered that that kitten had a congenital leg defect.

- This is for life, as a veterinary said. That is why the kitten is limping.

Then the boy became very excited for some reason.

- I would like to buy him.

- Are you kidding, pal? This is a defective animal! Why would you buy it? However, if you are such a merciful boy, take it for free, I give it to you.

But the boy suddenly pulled a long face.

- No, I don’t want it for free, - said the boy with a forced voice. – This kitten costs as much as the others, because it is not any worse than the others! And I’m ready to pay the full price. I will bring you money, - he added decidedly.

Looking at the boy with amazement, the seller felt that his heart quailed.

- Son, you just don’t get it. This poor kitten will never be able to run, play and jump as other kittens do.

The boy looked at the seller silently and started tucking in a trouser leg. And then the amazed seller saw that the boy’s leg was terribly twisted and supported by metallic hoops.

The boy looked at the seller.

- I won’t be able to run and jump, too. This kitten needs someone, who would understand him, knew how hard it is, someone, who could support him, - the boy said in a quavering voice.

The man behind the counter started biting his lips. Tears filled his eyes…
Having been silent for a while, he smiled forcefully.

- Son, I will pray for all kittens to have such good owners like you.
